The Wedding of the Year

Hi Everyone,

Well, I guess Shane got the seven year itch. After dating Alissa for seven years, Shane and Alissa got married.

The background is that on their 6th anniversary, Shane proposed. And, of course, and tearfully, Alissa said "YES!" (Tears of Joy we hope).

And so, returning to the place they met and fell in love, they were married in Saratoga Springs on October 17, 2009.

It was a very special weekend. Despite predictions of rain and general yucky weather, the sun came out and the autumn colors shone. It was gorgeous.

There was a wedding reception for all guests arriving on Friday at the Saratoga City Tavern on Friday night. Alter and Fuhrman friends and family ate, drank and socialized before the big day. Shane and Alissa looked calm, and just incredibly happy.

Saturday was a day for the wedding party to get ready while guests were able to enjoy all Saratoga Springs has to offer. Although it was cool it was beautiful out and town was buzzing with activities and great places to eat, shmooz and shop.

Finally, Saturday night, the BIG EVENT was held at The Hall of Springs, a jaw dropping, eyeball bending hall of marble and columns and flowers and chandeliers. The evening was filled with a ceremony led by a lighthearted rabbi, followed by dancing, laughing, great food, great company and so much fun. These 2 kids are both so beautiful and when they smile they just light up the night. They were so radiant and graciously made their way around the room taking time to visit with and getting to know all the guests they already knew or were meeting for the first time. It was a magical evening. And not once did either of them have even a nanosecond of a hesitation. They are so in love and so love being together that I can't help but smile everytime I see them together. They enjoy one another and have more fun than a pack of puppies. My heart swells with love for them both.

There was a final brunch on Sunday morning to say goodbye to and thank those we had a brief evening to visit with, hoping that another wonderful event would bring us all together again.

The happy couple honeymooned in Italy for 2 weeks feasting on pasta and vino.

Here are some photo links. Enjoy them. Some were taken by the wedding photographer Joe Elerio and some were take by my fantastic and loving cousin Mitchell Weinstock, and some by his loving wife Cynthia. There will be more as they become available.
